From before missionaries arrived in Alta California, Tecate, Baja California was a meeting point, cohabitation and survival for the Kumeyaay ethnic groups; subsequently, in their evangelization work, missionaries from the jurisdiction of the mission San Diego, appointed the natives – Diegueños-.

Although the culture of these groups has been lost, it has not been forgotten.

In recognition of one of the Kumeyaay Shrines, Santuario Diegueño was born, a small boutique hotel that with its unique spaces, comfortable and impeccable facilities, warm personal attention, and its location in La Puerta Norte to Ruta del Vino (Wine Route), makes the visit a unique experience for its guests.

Its gardens, steeped in regional flora, its neo vernacular architecture and its collection of pieces of Mexican art give a unique personality to each space.

Walking through its interior corridors, as well as its exterior sidewalks, allows you to discover every detail that was long thought out and then worked to be placed in its ideal place for the aesthetic delight of the view and relaxation of the spirit.

Plants, shrubs and stone walls that are caressed by the morning dew, exacerbate the smell of rosemary, epazote and other plants of species that awake the sense of smell.
